Back in the Saddle
This morning we saw our first cardinal. Another sign that Spring is indeed in the air. True Faith on the radio. My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear.
Six days have passed since testing positive for Covid, again. I go back to work today and not really looking forward to it since that is where I picked it up? I know I am more obsessed with sanitizing there, especially the front desk area. I also know that I am the only one that focused? My immune system definitely took a hit this time.
Anyway, I didn’t have the mind or heart to write or edit, so I watched a lot. Mostly serials. Mostly mysteries. Agatha Raisin, Madame Blanc Mysteries. Started The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, last night and must say, I was enjoying but have to slip back into writing mode for a bit. Working on a piece about horror in the daylight and then allow myself to convalesce again until my shift this evening.
The images below are from a film called Midday Demons. It doesn’t seem to have many reviews and the few I saw weren’t all great. It may have relied too much on place and atmosphere. The plot was not the most original but I think I liked it because of its sense of place (Southern Italy), the fact that it is a ghost story (a favorite subgenre of mine) and a lot happens during the day. Also the main character is a fish out of water in more ways than one when she travels back to her husband’s hometown. I could very much relate to this. The strength of the story was how I related to it obviously.
