I can’t believe it has been a week since I’ve last written. Where have the days gone? What have I been up to? The usual. Reading and editing and baking and sometimes just existing in the grayness. I suffer in these mottled days and curse a winter that has not yet arrived.
Business at the restaurant picks up day by day and then you have those slow says that make you question your choices, yourself. And then you remember that it hasn’t even been two months yet. That every review given has been positive. That you must be patient. No rest for the wicked. Good things come to those who wait. Uggh.
Sometimes I feel like I’m in constant mourning. Of what? I don’t know. A loss somewhere in the past or yet to come. Sunshine on Monday. In the meantime though, I’m going to get a Daylight bulb for over my desk. The brightest I can take. Ha!
In the meantime, I will have to find brightness in other ways. Not let my mind slip into too smooth a rhythm. Only read so much, edit the same piece for too long otherwise, the rhythm becomes an awful lull.
I will take a short break from my Big Project and work on some Submission calls that read interesting.
On a lighter note. I sold a book out of my woefully neglected Etsy Bookstore. I made a fair profit, so that makes me happy.
I hope the week has treated you well and have a wonderful weekend!
