So, it’s winter again. Woke up to snow and iced up windows and that wet cold that sinks in your bones. Hate it. Also, the squirrels are cutting up! Some wait and cross at the crosswalk. Giving you time to brake and curse, but smile. The others scramble wherever the heck they want to like a whip of leaves, trying to kill you! But what can I say? It is January in Illinois A week has gone by again and I feel like I haven’t accomplished much writing wise, but sometimes I just find myself in a mental rut, no- paralysis of some type because I have the ideas, etc. I just freeze and sit. But I’ve been baking and organizing my desk and listing books, so trying to feel the spaces. I’ve been reading a lot. Mostly Flash essays on Art appreciation. Didn’t know that was a thing, but it interested me, so I may try it as an exercise. I hope you all had a good week. Creating as you can, when you can. Here’s the Friday line. Something from the piece I wrote for the, The Last Time I Saw call (which was rejected, ha!) She sliced the peppers as she talked about paperwork explaining the process of donating her body.
