This week has flown by! Friday again. Started off my morning by going to an Estate sale a few miles away. The draw of course, books. The people who lived there had History, tons of Fiction, vintage and modern and a lot of Psychoanalysis books from Freud to others I'd never heard of. There was only one other person looking at the books. Sigh. It was tempting but $2 apiece adds up quickly. I picked up one plus some books on Sexton, Plath and Oates for the shop. Janis Joplin and Colette for myself. I also picked up a mug that I didn't need. I am becoming my mother. The woman who oversaw the sale recognized me from work, telling her sister that I worked where their mom lives and I am one of the nicest people there and I appreciated it. It is nice to be recognized. It is a hard job. Not so much physically but definitely spiritually, mentally. You have a front row seat to the process of aging. The good and the bad. Families coming together, splintering. A resident deteriorating seemingly overnight. Other times, painfully slow. Sometimes, they are just gone. I've mourned a lot since starting there. Anyway, I was only there 40 minutes. In/out. Later, Alfio dropped Sofia and I off at thrift store while he hit the Mexican market up the street. Found a Nordic Ware mini-Bundt cake pan for $5! Now back home editing, editing, editing a piece: Epithet for a Husband (Not mine!) And an entry for the Anthology of Dark Usual Manuals call. The first line is: Don’t give it a name, you’ll be tempted. 211 words right now. It was a quick first write and surprisingly clean. The other one is giving me more fits. May have to shelf it for a bit. I have been messing around with the new Notes feature. Not sure how I will utilize it. Maybe share books as I add them to my Etsy shop? I don't want to over
saturate or overlap, so it may just be a once a week Note, whatever I do. But I am curious, how you as a reader or writer feel about this new feature, so let me know and have a great weekend!
I thought about it some. My timeline is inundated with growth hacks and people showing their subscriber growth, and I don't want to see that. I want to see people sharing their work and others' work, so I can find a newsletter I would be interested in. I also don't want to spend too much time there.
