*I kept getting error, “Network Issue” when I tried to publish this yesterday!*
My last post was mistitled. It felt like a Monday, though it was the middle of the week, ha! But today is definitely Friday! It is 21 degrees here in the south suburbs of Chicago, but the sun shines which is a plus.
I worked a bit on a piece that was a stream of consciousness work while I was heading to the thrift store. It has a musicality to it that I’m quite pleased with. It is all observation based and it is amazing what your eyes can pick up when you allow yourself to see.
This town, this village. Is my hometown. Can one say home village? I will, is full of so many memories. As I child, I saw everything from the backseat, and eventually the passenger seat, but that was with friends, loves, not with a parent until I was a full-fledged adult. So there are places that are still unfamiliar to me. I was gone by the time old places left and new places came only to leave again. And there are still streets that I only know by name. All and all, it really hasn’t changed except for the places that are no longer here. It still feels like the place I wanted to escape as a child, never to return.
The Friday line referenced above was pruned from a piece I was working on last October. Looking at it again, I’m not sure why I removed it because I love it. But I’m not going back to it.
