Another week in the rearview mirror! Time is going by so fast this month; I feel like I was lamenting the persistence of Winter and here we are almost a week into Spring!
I did submit to Gutter Magazine. I hope it is not too wacky but it is honest. Today I didn’t start my day with writing but laundry and listing. Have more Spring-cleaning to do but, baby steps.
Yesterday, I read up on Gertrude Abercrombie, a fascinating surrealist painter. I am intrigued and want to write about her or women like her, or create a woman like her. Not sure yet. It may have to go to the Project Pile. This is not actually a pile but papers here and there and THERE.
Writing workshop tomorrow with Womxn's Writing Circle and am so excited! It is focused on Committing to BIG projects and I have one in mind. It forces me to revisit an old project and expand on it. I hope that tomorrow will help with my focus and completion of this project, chiamando tutti i santi!
Today, I am listening to Depeche Mode’s, Memento Mori and so far I am enjoying it. Have loved DM since what, Jr. High? Even had David Gahan autograph what I am sure is a crappy poem I wrote but of course back then, I thought was quality.
Today, I am going back to another piece, currently titled, The Debt and here is a line or two. I already see changes that need to be made but this is all part of the process, so I am sharing:
Days turned into weeks and months, she thought. Love did that to you. Filled your heart, numbed your tongue…
ope you all have had a good week and if not, that the weekend treats you better! Gertrude Abercombie’s untitled 1963 painting
