It is that time of the year again. Actually a bit sooner as we’ve been kissed with an unexpected storm. The air is cooler, cicadas quieter and I now want to do a seasonal purge of my closet, shedding clothes I’ve been collecting like layers only to bag up, box up. I think I picked up the Magpie syndrome from both my mother and my father though they have not been together for decades. My father has an affinity for flowers, my mother as well, though before it was clothing. They both have beautiful gardens. My mother, wildflowers and rarities. My dad, more traditional, an ode to my great grandma, an English garden, and a reflection of his travels. Shopping, a comfort, an expulsion. I’m grateful for my local thrift store and a daughter who mirrors my style, and the luck of having more restraint than my parents.
Working on a call, working on my baking. I made a chocolate ganache for the first time and it turned out pretty tasty!
I’ve also realized that I haven’t listed any books on Etsy in ages! Uggh. And have stacks of books to list. I will have to add that to my morning tasks, LIST A BOOK OR TWO OR THREE.
As always, I hope the week is treating you well.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, the photographs I post of Sicily are from when I lived there with my husband and youngest daughter for a year and a half.
