The sun shines again today! It is supposed to reach 49 but of course that will be after I’ve already been at work for an hour, ha! But at least it will still be light out, one upside of the time change.
This morning I am editing a piece that I had in the notes file on my phone. It was an idea that I came up with while driving down 26th Street on my way to the thrift store. A local man was on the side of the road collecting cans. That’s it. I voice activated my notes and just talked until the thought fizzled out. I just looked and saw that I created that note almost a month ago, 2/10!
Looks like a have a handful of notes, titles, and ideas in my phone just waiting to be realized. I have to remember to refer to my phone when working on my scheduled writing. There is good stuff there! I have a vivid imagination. I see stories everywhere but last year I forced myself into some idea I saw somewhere that not everything is a story. I think that I latched onto that so I wouldn’t feel so guilty that I wasn’t constantly writing? Every year I try to find a balance. I suppose it is the Libra in me.
So what about you? Do you utilize your phone when an idea comes to mind while on the go or do you have a kind of mindset that, “Oh well, if I can’t write it down, it doesn’t exist?” If you do use your notes or voice recorder, how often do you go back to mine your files? Immediately? Eventually? Or do you tend to forget?
I wanted to add, if you still read my newsletter, even if not right away, I appreciate you! This is a true labor of love. I try not to force it but I also don’t want to lose my love for it and try to work through fatigue and fog caused by my MS. I love to write. I love to write about writing and I love that you’ve subscribed to my newsletter.
And remember: Nulla dies sine linea
I love reading your newsletters <3. I don't have a phone, but I do have a tablet. Any time an idea pops in my head, I put it in my notes.
