Again, again the time flies.
Another beautiful morning. I let my daughter drive to school again and she’s getting better and better. It is a reminder that she is less than two months away from 18. Less than two months away from being an adult in years, the last of the birdies. Though we of course hope she won’t go too far away when she goes.
I went to visit J*hn at the nursing home only to find that he was sent to hospital 3 days ago and no one called. Went to the hospital only to find him sedated. I talked to his nurse, left him with a few touches and words he might not feel or hear and left.
Eventually, home to work on this winter piece about the cold and writing and corn. Pure Midwest. Ha! Working on another two pieces, one about a traumatic event, the other about a near passing. A mini-theme that arose from many places but isn’t that the path of a writer?
In between I baked a Banana Olive oil cake but used Chai powder and Almond extract to change it up a little.
I am also cleaning up another piece and need to circle back to The Relic piece. Sometimes for me being laser focused means eyes on two or three rather than one but that is how my mind works, so I have to make it work when it does.
I'm sorry no one called about J*hn. That's so irresponsible!
