Another weekend gone. Monday already. The house to myself. Time to reflect, for reflecting. Yesterday morning, we all slept in of course but I felt like I didn’t gain anything? I still like the little trick I allow old school appliances to play. The reminder of the hour lost or gained. Stretch of limbo. Thank you oven, 25-year-old car.
And back to the present and my little garden that is turning itself back into the earth. a few red blobs that were my Cuore di Bue tomatoes that didn’t quite take. They thrived but the worms kept getting to them, and I didn’t have the time or focus to pull them from the vine in time. Next year.
Yesterday, I started to work on a piece for a call. (I will post the details of the call below) The theme: Hometown. It will be a film diary of sorts for the movie The Relic (1997). It has a special place in my heart, ha! I started it on an index card (great way to train for succinctness by the way!) But fleshed it out to 618 words. Will try to recise it by a couple hundred of words.
I hope that you all had a good weekend and that the week treats you kind.
Call:The Mood Magazine Issue 9: HOMETOWN We’re looking for writing about film, TV, and pop culture related to your hometown—however you may define it. These could be films shot or set in your town, state/province, or country. Or maybe it’s a town you’ve always identified with, an invented hometown, or a hometown hero.
I've no doubt your piece is going to be amazing. What a fine idea!
