May 1st. The date Calamity Jane was born and the day writer/political activist Eldridge Cleaver passed. It is a Monday. Grey skies, rain, cold. A great day to write or watch a horror movie, ha! My weekend was not as productive as I would have liked it to be, creative wise. But I am trying not to dwell on it and move on. Here is a short list of a few things I've done and seen. Listened to: Paul Desmond, Bob Prince - Desmond Blue Reading: We Arrive Uninvited - Jen Knox (I have added a link for you to read synopsis and purchase if compelled) Watched: Elementary, Top Chef, The Brokenwood Mysteries Submitted: How to Make the Most Out of Your Human Word of the Day, oddments: Odd articles or remnants, things not reckoned or included, articles belonging to broken or incomplete sets. (1780, a hybrid with a Latin suffix on a Germanic word, from odd (q.v.), on model of fragments. Working on: A micro about Pat Lowther, a Canadian poet murdered by failed poet, husband. Working on next: Maybe an Ekphrastic piece on a photograph of Frida Kahlo/Diego Rivera Learned: The Shunn Standard Manuscript Format (Had to reformat a submission right before submission. Ha!) I hope that you all have had a good weekend and that this week treats you well.
