Yesterday was a workday more than usual. Sofia, headphones on was taking practice ACT tests, Alfio, with ear buds in was practicing his recipes in the kitchen, and I, with headphones on, edited and edited and edited. Don't know how many hours were spent but they were spent well. I actually made a lot of progress and it felt so, so good. I made a note last night after staying up way too late reading Sophie Hannah's, Closed Casket. Apparently she is the first author authorized by the Agatha Christie estate to write new stories for Christie's character. It is a good bedtime read. Back to the note: Label Google Doc tabs PROJECT so I know what to work on. I just implemented that change and based on my writing/editing process, I should have done it long ago. Usually, I go through my pieces in cycles. Edit until I can't make any reasonable progress, then move on to something else. Or, I will start on something anew. This sometimes causes me to lose sight of something I should really be paying attention to and this is probably how I end up missing deadlines for submission calls. Now I can see my progress! I have 11 tabs flagged PROJECT and some documents have more than one piece on them! I am so happy! For now though, I have to put a little focus on a call that is six days away and I REALLY want to make the deadline. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that this week treats you well.
