Well, Saturday didn’t turn out as expected. My father was sick with the flu, something he was trying to downplay. I understand because he was looking forward to the outing as much as I, but I told him it was best to reschedule. We ended up going to the city, specifically a little North to go the Asian Market near Argyle. I requested a drop off at the Salvation Army because, hello. THRIFTING. Ha! It was a serendipitous trip because we found what will probably be the location of our carry-out place! I did a little editing over the weekend. More of destroying superfluous drafts and organizing my writing. Today I went on my first ride (motorcycle) in a while. I hadn’t been in the right state, and it’s been a bit too hot as well. Today I decided to bite the bullet and when my husband came back from the city, already had my bandana on. He was pleasantly surprised. Being introverted makes it a weirdly wonderful experience. My eyes are always to the sky. Through and to the top of trees. In the fields and ditches. I am happy to wear sunglasses because whenever a vehicle pulls alongside us, I automatically imagine eyeballs on me and look away. Unless there are children. I love to see them stare in wonder. I also love to hear the birds unfiltered. Red-winged Blackbirds are a favorite. Something about that trill. I also watch out for Turkey Vultures (another favorite) as well as hawks. The downside of course, is the occasional roadkill, bumps, and pits in the road but he usually gives me a gentle tap on the thigh to signal the latter so that I can lift myself a bit and save my back. I got my Vitamin D from the day and a shade darker. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that Monday was good to you.
