Monday already? Our youngest has been out of town for the past five days at the National High School Dance Festival. It has been odd not having her here but also a nice shift in the atmosphere for my husband and I. Nothing really changed for us though. Still had to work, still had the same time apart during the day and when asleep, but those few hours extra here and there were needed. I let dishes pile up and dinners consisted of anything you can pick up with your fingers, like when we first met and he would create a fancy platter he'd set on the seat of my 50 year old wooden chair I bought for $2 because I didn’t have a table in my apartment. Yesterday, we spent the day in Chicago, the hometown we spent our adult lives in. I will always love Chicago, for all its warts, imperfections. I have wonderful memories there and still have a great time. I am an Uptown Girl, who spent a little time in Wicker Park, but Uptown for the win. Had my heart broken and restored there. Met some great characters. Grew up there. We ate at our now favorite Indian place off Devon and I will stick the link below just in case you are ever in town and want to venture out. We ate too much and that carried us into today. All we had for dinner was Sweet Vermouth/Sprite and he had a few bites of the leftovers. Today is doing all the chores I usually do on Sundays and am listening to thunder outside the window. It is a grey day that will clear up around one and the temp will be 54! I may or may venture out though; I have more than enough to keep me busy inside, including reading a manuscript and of course writing. I hope that you all had a good weekend and a good Monday!
