It has been a minute since I’ve written here. The medium that sparked my writing in the first place. I think I fell into the comfort/ease of notes. The compactness of a thought, a photo, a blip. I will have to save that for Instagram or at the very least, find the balance. I am a Libra after all!
I cannot believe it is 2025! I haven’t made any resolutions, though I am entering the New Year smoke-free! I am also going to clear out my closet, and try to lean towards minimalism. I think I inherited a bit of a hoarding/nesting need from my parents and really need to let go of a lot of stuff.
Surprisingly, I only submitted to six places all of last year and am certain that I’ve written more than that. Completed may be another story but at the very least, six but maybe they just didn’t fit?
I’ve got to take stock of my finished pieces and filter them appropriately by theme, etc. I also lost track of my writing project, but the unexpected boom of the restaurant really changed my schedule, writing habits, etc. I was focused on it, as I should be, but this year, I also have to find a balance, period.
Finally got around to watching M. Night Shyamalan’s, Trap. I do have a love/like/hate relationship for the films of his that I’ve seen.
Loved: The Visit, Signs, Devil, The Sixth Sense
Liked: Old, The Happening, The Village, Unbreakable
I was definitely giving Trap the benefit of the doubt, thinking, well I won’t hate it. (And I did notice that none of the movies above fell into that category, ha!) Though only a few of them warranted a second or more viewing for me.
It was a fun premise and though I almost bailed immediately, I did stay for the ride. I didn’t hate it. The best part for me was definitely Josh Hartnett. He definitely should do more stints as the baddie in horror films. Shoot, more horror period.
Anyway, more horror and more writing in the year 2025!
Solid. She is back!! Imma have to watch TRAP. See what it do. If U almost bailed immediately, I mite just watch da damn TRAILER then....
