Another day off, another day gone. I did everything that needed to be done and a couple, two, three things that didn’t need to be. But they don’t call it treating yourself for nothing?
One thing I am happy about is that I did get some planting done. My fig, my Junior Walker Catmint, some marigolds in ode to my great grandma.
I will do the veggies this weekend; don’t want to do too much. The neuropathy in my feet was out of control last night. And now? Just a light but constant tingling. I hate it, but one more long day tomorrow and then I have the next few off, so keeping my protests to myself.

Monday, May 26th:
Never finished the above post, but didn’t want to delete it since it was part of my week. Good memories, if you will.
Today, we took the bike out and rode to the city. It was a smidge cooler than we anticipated, but we two old birds sucked it in and rode on. Surprisingly, it wasn’t that crazy traffic/people wise and we hit the Salvation Army. It was half off on all clothing, but I was a good girl. Found a pair of shoes for the wedding. Some old school looking peep toe shoes in gold. Some Miz Mooz (my first and only shoe crush. No, that is a lie. I would love some Maison Margiela tabi loafers, but mama doesn’t have that kind of flow.) loafers for $15 that retail for a lot more. A black summer dress and a few black tops because, BLACK.
We then went to Clark St. Dogs for a quick meal and headed home. The ride back was definitely warmer and thus more enjoyable. I’ve set the house right side up again, laundry is running, and I am going to do a bit of editing. I am glad A agreed to close the restaurant today. He deserved an extra day to rest, heal, ride, and be.
I’ve been falling down many a rabbit hole of vintage baking recipes. Must pull back and edit a bit.
Hope your weekend treated you well and that today is giving you the same grace.
