This morning the sun shines. I slept in the best that I could. More, a lay in. Eyes closed, listening. I try to force myself to rest. Fight the urge to jump up and do, even if that only entails making coffee and staring off into nothing for half an hour. HA!
I have taken a quick break from writing to post here. I’m going through my index cards and notes app, pulling off pieces, typing them up on Google Docs to try to shape them into something. So far, one is about Spring, one about aging. I did type something up yesterday while on the Metra. What prompted me was hearing the ticket collector having a conversation with a mother. He was firing questions at her and the introvert in me was like, creep. But of course it was harmless; though I heard a couple of pauses from her that made me feel she may have also been an introvert. So the piece is about a simple question: Where are you from? What she comes from. (I will the what as a further prompt.)
And the response? A tangent derived from memory, yet still telling as far as where she comes from. An idea stemmed from a Kathy Fish prompt. Love her prompts!
Then I have a title prompt I came up with when speaking to my dad. We will see what comes out of that but I wish you all a wonderful day, wonderful weekend.
Ciao for now!
Oooh. I love question answer pieces, especially when they're more abstract.
